Tuition, Absences
and Make-Ups back
to top
- We accept payment for tuition by auto credit card/debit payments or 5months advanced tuition payment by cash. Credit/debit card form click here.
- Tuition is based on a four week month. Tuition will be
the same whether it is a three or five week month.
- There are no pro-rated fees for missed classes, vacations,
holidays or illness. There will be NO REFUNDS or CREDITS
for classes missed. Once registered, student class placement
is considered reserved for the season (providing tuition
is paid on time) and it is expected to be a financial commitment
for the season.
- Missed classes may be made up within 30 days in another
class of similar age and level, providing there is room
available in the class. To be fair to all students and avoid
overcrowding, all make-ups must first be approved by the
office.
- Students may be asked to sit out of a class if tuition
is not received by the 15th of the month.
- If a student wishes to withdraw from any class or withdraw
entirely from The Royal Dance Academy, then the studio should
be notified in writing, 4 weeks in advance of leaving. Tuition
must be paid during the 4 week notification period.
- A space will be reserved for each student in their respective
class until the studio is notified otherwise. All charges
will continue to be assessed and invoiced to parents or
guardians.
* A class may be cancelled at the discretion of the owner
- If a student quits twice for reasons other than illness
or financial hardship, the student should not consider returning
to The Royal Dance Academy. It is not conducive with our
philosophy to participate when quitting becomes a habit.
We recommend the parent’s stern commitment to completion.
- We fully understand that students enroll in other activities.
However, we expect a level of commitment from each student
in order for them to progress and develop within their class.
If classes are missed due to a student taking on other commitments,
then their place in dance class may not be guaranteed. This
is very important during recital preparation.
- It may not be possible to accommodate student’s
requests to change classes due to conflicts with other activities
outside of their dance. We would greatly appreciate your
co-operation in this matter.
Studio Dress
Code & Etiquette back
to top
- Students must arrive at least 10 minutes before class.
- Teachers reserve the right to prevent a student from
participating if they are late for class.
- It is important that every student feels like a dancer
when attending classes. Therefore, correct uniform must
be worn at all times in order for them to dance with confidence,
poise, and to their full potential.
- Students not meeting the required dress code will not
be permitted into class.
- Hair must be neatly secured off the face and neck for
all classes.
- Students should arrive dressed for class with all necessary
accessories and shoes in a dance bag. The student’s
name should be on every item, especially shoes and bags.
The Royal Dance Academy will not be responsible for lost,
stolen or misplaced items.
- No jewelry, chewing gum, food or drinks, (other than
water) are allowed in either the studio, reception or bathrooms.
- Skirts should not be worn by any students, except the
advanced class.
- Please do not send younger children to class with toys
or wearing tutus or costumes. This is unfair to other students
who abide by the dress code.
- No jeans are to be worn to any class, at any time…
including Hip Hop.
- Respect for the director, teachers, staff, studio curriculum
and fellow students is EXPECTED of all students, parents
and siblings.
- The Royal Dance Academy has the right to dismiss any
student from class or from the school if the student is
disrupting the class or disrespecting the schools policies.
- The reception and waiting area is available to parents
while students are attending class and to students waiting
for their class to begin. All young children must be supervised
by a responsible adult. The Royal Dance Academy is not responsible
for any injuries, or for children left at the studio unsupervised,
before or after class.
- We ask that parents of young children not ‘hang
out’ at the studio doors as this is very distracting
to the students and teacher in the class. It encourages
the children to look to the parents and not focus on the
teacher. It also makes the more anxious child upset if their
parent is not within sight.
- There will be opportunities throughout the year for
parents to watch and participate in their child’s
class.
- All teachers and staff are approachable and sensitive
to any queries or problems that may arise. We are always
available to speak with parents or students.
Recital back
to top
- All dancers registered will have the opportunity to participate
in The Royal Dance Academy Annual Recital. This professional
presentation is the chance for students to showcase their
hard work in a professional theatre. (participation is optional).
- Costumes and recital fees will be paid for by parents
either before or during the month of December.
- If a student is absent for more than three (3) classes
during the months of February – June, they may not
participate in the recital. (exceptions will be made for
illness).
- All recital participants must attend all rehearsals and
dress rehearsals.
- All costumes will be ordered during the month of December.
All students will be measured and orders are placed only
for costumes paid in full at the time of ordering…
NO EXCEPTIONS. Costume payments do not include tights and
shoes.
- Once costumes are ordered, there will be no refunds.
- Costumes can range in price from $60 - $130.
- In an effort to make payments less cumbersome, especially
for those students who perform in numerous dances, The Royal
Dance Academy has set up a costume payment plan for students
and families.
A $20 deposit will be due on Sept. 1st, Oct. 1st and Nov. 1st, with the remaining balance due on Dec. 1st.
- All accounts must be settled and dues paid in full by

the recital if their account still has an outstanding balance
after June 10th.
